Puters
Haven't checked in for a while since my computer was on the blink - my brand new beautiul mac too! This week has been a bit crazy - it started with Jury duty on Monday - which i wasn't picked for even though they still managed to keep me there for most of the day - it was pretty interesting though :) Slipped out to the mall to get said sick computer back from the store and sneaked in to the perfume shop for a little bit of aromatherapy - there were so many I liked I couldn't choose. Have tried to eat well and did my bootcamp yesterday. Also had the bright idea of taking the kids for a walk last night- but my 20 month old threw the biggest fit - long story but he wouldn't wear his helmet and wanted to ride the scooter - his fit lasted even when we got home, through bath time and up until about 15 mins before bed. I have a plan though - that my husband will HATE - we are going out tonight with mini pushchairs - he loves to have something to push. Yes my son will be in public pushing a stroller :)!!! I'll put his sea Otter in it for goodness sake - thats kinda manly....We may be saved if the truck I bought him which comes with a push handle arrives in the mail today...wish me luck.

Shark bait
Not the best couple of days but not the worst - I haven't had sweets for a week - I think...maybe 5 days - but did have some alcohol the last couple of nights - the good thing is I can take or leave the alcohol but no chocolate for a few days is quite magical :) Waiting for my husband to get up so I can go for a run before I get too hungry. Last night we picked the kids up early and went to the pool - they LOVED it. My daughter has been taling lessons all summer and now goes under water for long periods of time - I had my heart in my mouth several times - she is only 3!! Her teacher calles her shark bait since she is a wee bit smaller than her swim pals! Not sure what else the day has in store but I know its not going to be fry an egg on the pavement hot - yes!
Mojito
Still doing OK...had a lovely walk with the kids last night - only one tantrum from my almost 2 year old who wanted to ride his sisters scooter - and just one scuffed knee - its usually two :)...I love walking down the street wielding a thrashing toddler. Actually it was only until we had crossed the road and then I let him push the scooter home even though it took FOR EVER!! Luckily I am patient. Still had to have the coffee this morning - but a healthy lunch and now its off for drinks with some colleagues - I never do this. No children to entertain, feed, walk and bathe...wow! Magic...

Coffee
So I am nursing my second LARGE coffee of the day - having to write (grants) is crippling me - my brain seems to need the boost. Though the first coffee was the result of waking up really early to get the kids in early - to get to work early and to be scuppered by a freezer that was not frozen and a REALLY grumpy almost two year old that just wanted to be carried around all morning...best layed plans. I did get them to school eventually and I DID manage to avoid the muffin with the coffee!!! Hubby made me a lovely healthy salad for lunch so that was brilliant. He has started cooking dinners again with our now almost functional new kitchen so its back to eating pretty healthily. Will try and do some exercise tonight if its not too hot out...Anyone else out there exhausted?
Keeping my word
Since I promised myself I would blog.......... Boot camp kicked my butt this morning...I will be hurting tomorrow. Had a smoothie breakfast (can't say I made it myself but I will hopefully the rest of the week) and a veggie sandwich for lunch. I am now hitting the hard part of the day when I am at my computer and trying to write - boring :) This morning I actually got my hands dirty in the lab - we got some experiments to work so it was brilliant!!! Much more fun than writing...Ughhhhh
Off to grab some water

New kitchen new start
Yes - we now have a sink, cooker and a fridge though its not quite in the right place yet!! Yippeeee. I am going to start anew and try to blog as it makes me accountable :) Today was so far so good - tomorrow is bootcamp in the morning and maybe a swim with the kids in the evening cos its TOO hot!! Though now I think high 90F is quite reasonable and only truly complain when its 100+. What is worrying is that my 3 year old constantly says she is cold - I am raising a true California girl (though unfortunately she has my skin).
Jump Rope
They made me use a skipping rope at boot camp this morning - I couldn't do it for laughing - in fact I couldn't do it. I had to skip rope - they all jumped two footed. Granted two were the trainers and the other girl had done the whole class twice already. Off to by a rope tonight!!! AND....we should have a functioning kitchen when we get home tonight! fingers crossed - we may have a sink :) and a cooker :) yippeee...now I have no excuse to start eating very healthfully again.

Boot Camp
Arrived back from vacation at the weekend so I have been Peteless for a while. Our kitchen was supposed to be complete when we got home but they cracked our granite so we are kitchenless for another week...yikes! I miss my sink!! Its really difficult not being able to prepare anything foodwise and living in chaos so I am hoping to start the programme with renewed vigor next week. Not to say I am not trying - I went to my first boot camp class this morning - 6.30 am in a local park and they kicked my butt!!! But it was GOOD!! And good to get moving again. Then we decided to move a big bed from upstairs and replace it with a new bed for my daughter - so there had been much lifting going on - will need a long hot bath tonight. Hope everyone is having a great summer and I'm looking forward to catching up on some blog logs...

Holiday Fun??
Hmm not had much time for Pete and the Petettes. We are a week in to our vacation. The first week has been filled with childrens fevers and vomit and then to cap it all I just had a migraine for two days - at least thats what I think it was - I was incapacitated and unresponsive to the cornucopia of pharmaceuticals that my father in law gave me. If any of you get migraines I have a new respect for your suffering :) So I am looking forward to a week of fun now:) and a new challenge :)
And hopefully some swimming :)
Healthy Vacations
It has been too crazy to really get into the programme recently. This week we are having the kitchen remodeled so its Chaos at home and in the middle of it all we leave for vacation - this could be good or VERY bad :) Also been waiting tor our renegade landscaper to come back and put our patio covers up. My guess is that he will show up during the kitchen demo just to add chaos to chaos :) Anyway we leave friday for 2 weeks in Indiana - doesn't sound like the vacation destination of choice - BUT it has family and a big lake. It is awesome!!! I will actually be able to concentrate more on eating well and there is no problem with exercising every day - I get to swim EVERY day !!!!! Twice if I want. Yippeee.....OK better go and check that my students have plenty to do when I am out of town :)

False Starts
How come I can do it (the programme) for a week then go off the rails...a never ending cycle...Anyone??
Hot HOT
I'm on a one and a half day wobble - hoping to rescue myself this afternoon. I know its because I haven't been able to exercise and feel ugghhh. Husband got back from a trip last night so now I should have time to get out and do something. Probably tonight or tomorow morning as its going to reach 105F today - yikes - !!!! Oh to be in England....
Midweek plateau
Yesterday was not bad but not good but not bad nor good - can't quite put my finger on it! I think its because I haven't been able to exercise since my husband left last saturday. I am with the kids and mother inlaw so no protected time to escape and run. He is back friday night - yippee so I can lace up then. Amazing how a few days stagnant makes you feel ...well....stagnant.
Reading the blogs this morning everyone seems to be doing GREAT!!! Congrats peeps.

Chocolate raisins and salt water taffy
I think I'm getting cocky after this first challenge week since today my cupboards have acquired a gigantic tub of chcolate raisins (thank you costco), peppermint patty icecream, a bag of salt water taffy ( yes really they call it taffy here!) oh and a bottle of champagne (thank you mother in law). All but the last are for the kids! I have been able to resist all but know what a fine line there is between control and chaos :) Doesn't help that my dear husband decided to take half the cupboards off the kitchen cabinets. We are having the kitchen redone in about six weeks and he wanted to feel like it was really happening I guess :)!!! Weirdo :) But I can see stuff in there right?
Had a lovely day at the train museum today......hope you all had a fun weekend too.
heres to a great week 2.

Green Fingers
My six course meal last night was AWESOME - proably not the most tactful thing to blog about on this forum but if its any consolation I felt Ughhh this morning. We got to bed at midnight -armed with an armful of abolone shells and big hugs from the chef - told yah it was a weird place!!! it took about 4.5 hours for dinner - then had to get up at 4am to get hubby to the airport. I came home and couldn't face a run so crashed for 2 hrs until the kids got up. This was followed by a mild case of stomch upset which was either the food or the stomach bug my son had this week - but on the bright side last nights intake may now be balanced by todays outtakes:)!!! TMI
We are having our garden cleaned up this week and the contractor sent me to a garden center that he said would help me pick out some plants. Was greeted by a man who rolled his eyes and said I can't design it for you!! I only asked for some help picking a few plants!!! So I picked some mainly on my own - we now have Jasmine (yum) lavendar, rosemary and some pretty bushes with flowers and some daisys - who the hec knows if its OK but they looked beautiful as my daughter exclaimed as we put them on the trolley:) Off to look at rocks this afternoon - don't think I need help with that one....
